As you may have picked up from Brian's email ( 8 August) he is integrating Heritage with Moodle. This will provide students with information about their loans, reservations, and possibly a search box within Moodle itself.
I am yet to see which elements Brian is including but if he uses all of them the Moodle block will look something like the image below.
Could we ask for users to be able to renew at this point? Is this possible? It could be frustrating for students to have to go to another part of Go! to renew a book they still need.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately not - as the user is not in Heritage at this point it is just the information that has been 'pulled across'.
ReplyDeleteThe numbers displayed for reservations and loans are hyperlinks which will take the user directly to the relevant account page in Heritage.
This is great and I am sure it will encorage more students to use the online catalogue. Will students still need to get pins to use it?
ReplyDeleteIf Brian gets it right it should appear to work like single sign on (fingers crossed). There are various settings and I may need to 'tweak' them with Brian once I actually get to see it in action.
ReplyDeleteThat would be great! I will keep my fingers crossed :)
